Yes, most athletes have that elitism. Ryouta had that elitism for a long time. He still does to extent, but he likes to think he's growing up a bit, thanks to Kuroko.
He takes another bite and shrugs. "I put him a pedestal, and I didn't want him to ever loose. Which in a team sport was bad," he looked down, the defeat still stings a little. "I failed to completely stop looking up at him."
He doesn't think that's the complete reason, but he does think it's a major reason.
"That sounds good! We can do that later. I really want to hit the beach after lunch."
